This medicine is used for the relief of diarrhea symptoms.
Dosage/Directions for use Adults and children 12 years and older: 2 tablets to start, then 1 tablet after each loose bowel movement. Take this medicine with liquid. Do not take more than 8 tablets per day. Stop taking the tablets if you have a solid or hard stool or if you go for 24 hours without a bowel movement.
PrecautionsSpeak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to loperamide, if there is blood in your stools or you have a fever, if you are constipated or your abdomen is swollen, if you have abdominal pain, if you think you might have food poisoning, if you have a bacterial infection in your digestive system, if you have an inflammation of the lower bowel, if you are taking antibiotics, or if you have ulcerative colitis, meningitis, or a history of liver disease. This medicine may interact with other medicines. If you are taking any other medicines, especially drugs that make you drowsy or drugs that may slow down the action of the stomach or intestines (e.g., medicines for depression, allergies, or the common cold), ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking Novo-Loperamide Tablets. Keep out of reach of children.
